When adding or editing an on-site engagement, Trigger Settings is the third section. In this section it is possible to define the appearance and animation of the on-site engagement as well as its visibility.
The following settings allows you to define the appearance animations of your engagements. Please note that if you have chosen a sticky on-site engagement, these settings are irrelevant and are therefore blocked to use.
1.1. Time to Appear
In this setting you should define the amount of seconds before the on-site engagement is displayed on your site. Type the number on the field or use the the slider to increase/decrease the amount. If left blank, the on-site engagement will be displayed right away in the site.
1.2. Time to Disappear
In this setting you should define for how long the on-site engagement should be displayed, defining the amount of seconds until the it disappears from the site. Type the number on the field or use the the slider to increase/decrease the amount. If left blank, the on-site engagement will only disappear if the user presses the close icon.
1.3. Time to Appear & Disappear
If you include both a time to appear and disappear, keep in mind that the on-site engagement will be displayed for the amount of time between those two times. For example, if you set an on-site engagement to appear in 2 seconds and disappear in 12 seconds, the engagement will be successfully displayed for exactly 10 seconds, automatically appearing and disappearing.
If you wish to show the on-site engagement every time a user visits, click on this option. Keep in mind that if this option is off, an engagement will be displayed only once - so, for example, if you are previewing the engagement on your site, it will only be displayed the first time previewing the site, any time after that will not trigger the engagement. In that case, it is recommended that you clear your cache and refresh the website to be able to see the engagement again.
In this field you can choose the transition for the on-site engagement, which will be applied both when the it appears as well as when it closes. Find a preview of each of the animations on the GIF below.
2.1. On-Site Engagement Status
In this section you can choose to hide the on-site engagement (inactive) or make it visible from a specific date (scheduled). By default, when creating an on-site engagement, it will be visible from the moment of creation (active). Read a more elaborate description of the available status - active, scheduled and inactive - here!
2.2. Show on Pages
In this section you can define in which pages you wish the on-site engagement to be displayed. By default, all pages will be selected; to choose a specific page, simply type down the page name or click on the field to reveal all the existing pages on your site.
2.3. Show on Devices
